kr. 1.990
The salt production from Norður Salt is about combining two forces of nature; geothermal energy and the Arctic Ocean.
Icelandic black lava salt from Iceland is legendary in the truest sense of the word. Nordur’s Icelandic flake salt from the Westfjords of Iceland has a fantastic crispy crunch, a clean mild taste and a good finish. The black color resembles Icelandic black lava.

Norður Salt is made by a traditional Icelandic/Danish method dating back to 1753 that was practiced in the same place we make Norður Salt today. This traditional method and the location of the production in Breiðafjörður is what Norður Salt believes to be the ideal conditions to make flaky sea salt. The same reasons behind the salt making 260 years ago explain why they are here today.
From the Arctic sea to Norður Salt salt flakes
The salt production is about combining two forces of nature; geothermal energy and the Arctic Ocean. At the salt production facility in Karlsey, Reykhólar, they use both geothermal water directly from the geothermal wells at Reykhólar.
