About the book
One day, Grýla finds a strange object in the snow. Weird and fun! At first he creates nothing but trouble for the Santas, but then they get to play too. Thirteen Days to Christmas is a warm and beautiful Christmas story for children between the ages of two and seven – and everyone who will still be Christmas children during Advent.
When Christmas approaches, all the kids who are lucky enough to live in Iceland start looking forward to the arrival of Santa Claus. You know, of course, that the Santa Clauses live far up in the mountains, in a dark and deep cave, with their parents, Grýla and Leppalúda. You also know that their mother is terribly strict and hardly ever lets them out of her cruel sight all year round…except just for Christmas. Then the lads get a special Christmas leave to visit all the kids in Iceland and give those who have been obedient and kind a little something. And the other one… damaged potato.
This story takes place the day before Stekkjarstaur sets off on the great adventure journey across the snow-covered mountains and to the settlements.
