Blóm lífsins (The flower of life) – HUGRÚN
The Flower of Life is a recurring pattern in Nordic visual art. The pattern can be traced to Asia, where the term originated. It may be compared to the tree Yggdrasill, the source of life. The design of the Flower of Life is also modelled upon the flower drawings of the artist Sölvi Helgason, one of the most famous wonderers in the history of Iceland.

Glass photography – HINDiskr. 9.990,00
HINDis-illuminated photos are unique design pieces. Carefully packaged, each one comes with a purpose designed wooden stand.
HINDis-photos lend themselves well to placement experimentation. They are, of course, quite appealing in natural light, and they also fit well on a window sill where daylight shines through the glass. But place a candle behind them in the evening and they take on an other-worldly glow…
HINDis-photos reflect, each in its own singular way, the natural beauty of Iceland, here literally incorporated in glass by a new technique. The film is placed on a glass surface and then inserted for some time into a very hot kiln. The photos are slotted onto stained wooden stands at a certain angle in order to make them more accessible visually. An additional slot for tea lights is also provided.
The quality of the design is apparent by the fact that the photos are water resistant. They need no special care and can be cleaned with common glass cleaning liquids.
One could say that Icelandic nature is one big work of art. Not everyone can capture the grandeur and beauty of it on film, and therefore Hind works only with renowned nature photographers.

Iceland From Above
Text and photographs by Björn Rúriksson 128 colour photographs
We are given a new and different view of Iceland in the pages of this book. As indicated by the title of the book Iceland is examined from above. Viewers who may know many or most of the localities are given the opportunity to see them from a new viewpoint and in a new light. All the images in the book are taken from the air and this is the first book to treat the landscapes of Iceland so extensively in this way.
The book is intended to show the variations of color in nature while also attempting to give an insight to the geological history of the country's formation as experienced by the author. Iceland is a brand new country geologically speaking and infantile when compared to the age of its neighboring countries. In spite of this Iceland is an ancient land whether its age is compared with man's lifespan or with its eleven hundred year history. If the age of the country after it appeared above sea level is likened to one day, then its entire history happens within six seconds. If its age is likened to a whole year, then it has only been half an hour since the settlement.
